Our Story
The Founders of Aussenskin, Glenda and Victoria, have always suffered from very sensitive skin.
They meet in an online business group, and realised that they would work perfectly together to build an ethical, women lead business. (Even though they lived on other sides of the country!) They were both coming out of divorces where they got full time care of their kids, but lost their houses. So building a sustainable, long term business was important to building their future security. When they looked into ideas on what to do, they started a completely different business. After a couple of months, they found that it wasn't going to be able to be done well with the time they had (they both work full time) so they went back to the drawing board. Victoria looked into the skincare business a couple of years previously, but dismissed it as a solopreneur business, so she mentioned it to Glenda.
Both Glenda and Victoria have sensitive skin, and Victoria has had 4 skin cancers cut out, so they were particularly interested in starting a company with sensitive skin and natural ingredients in mind. After researching many different manufacturers, they found the perfect cosmetic chemist that held the same ethical philosophies. They got samples of all of the different products they wanted to trial, and tested them on their own sensitive skin. Then the process of designing logos, labels, bottles, trademarks, websites, social medias, packaging, sourcing gifts and wrapping and storage started.
9 months later Aussenskin launched in Australia.
